The Green Angels of

The installation presents an abstract cityscape with green angelic figures perched atop rooftops. The composition is inspired by the unique story of a Wendt & Kühn Grünhainichen Angel from the Museum of Saxonian Folk Art in Dresden. 3D-printed angels replicate the original figure and its journey in the early 20th century to the World War I frontline, where it served as a Christmas present from Margarete Wendt to her brother. The black landscape reflects a striking contrast, representing the entirely different types of toys and models produced by Wendt & Kühn during the Second World War — training sets for military officers’ schools. These pieces of information meld within the internal museum database entry, which takes the form of this installation: “The Green Angels of”
